The 2011 Formula 1 season is certainly one Ferrari would like to forget. Despite former champion Fernando Alonso giving it his best, in the end the Scuderia had only one win to show and a poor third place in the constructors’ championship.
The Ferrari Celeritas that is the work of Aldo Schurmann, a student from the Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design in Turin, Italy.
Ferrari EGO (Emotional Genereation One), designed by Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design [IAAD] Torino graduates Salvatore Simonetti, Massimiliano Petrachi and Vincenzo Morlino and Politecnico di Milano graduate Luca Zunino, the EGO seeks to mix extreme performance with so-called “strong emotional content”.
Unsurprisingly, we expect the Spider to feature the same marvelous 4.5-liter V8 engine with direct injection technology that powers the 458 Italia coupe model.
The V8 is rated at 570 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 540Nm or 398.2 lb-ft of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. Power will be sent to the rear wheels through Ferrari’s 7-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox.
